How Effective Is Meal Logging for Long-Term Weight Management?

Hi everyone,

I am using meal logging as a tool to track my intake and manage weight loss; and it has proven quite effective for me. I am interested in learning about others experiences with meal logging. I am curious about whether you find meal logging sustainable for long-term weight management.

Have you faced any challenges that made it less effective /difficult to maintain over time?
Understanding these points can provide valuable insights into the long-term value of meal logging. I have referred Meal Logging and Macros Tracking rpa guide but still need advice .

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences! :slightly_smiling_face:

Meal logging is complicated and time consuming. Most people find it easier to standardise meals or follow a pre-determined meal plan.

I’m surprised even today after so much advancements in technology, meal logging is still a painful task. I do it four out of seven days. and repent everytime i use an app.
First the existing database is not accurate.
Second for Indian palate, calories varies a lot of preparation style.

This should be fixed. This shouldn’t be complicated.

Yknow. ChatGPT 4O is surprisingly good at taking a picture of Indian foods and giving a fairly reasonable macro and micro nutrient breakdown of the food in the picture. It helps to have something to in the posture for scale… like a scale but it’s not necessary. Try it out!

Hey Dilip, checkout our calorie tracking app Miboso.
Our meal entry is faster because you can enter everything you ate in 1 line, regional names, flexible quantities.
Accuracy is on par with other players, we are improving that.

Would love for you to give it a try and provide feedback

Thanks! Will take a look. Can it take picture and calculate the macros?

Not yet, we are getting there.
We do have a restaurant menu scanner where you can upload picture of the menu, to see relative macros, just sort by protein or calorie to order better while eating out.
